HAPPY NEW YEAR!( Special reflections)

So the end is near. I mean for this year of course. And I want to reflect on all the progress or should I say " blog entries" I have written so far. As I look back, my generalized thought was that I have grown as a writer. I am starting to understand the more complex part of being a journalist. Keeping up with the entries, coming up with new stories to write or to blog about. It just amazes me that in a short period of time, I have grown in many ways; if its not by the way I write then by the way I sound writing. Does that make sense? I just want to thank 2009 for bringing on the challenge and hope that 2010 has a harder task for me to accomplish( like my 1st story!) All I would like to say is thank you for reading my blog this year, I hope you choose to continue viewing my page. And thank you 2009, this was the year i became confident, mature, grown, and you can say an adult.

Journalism schools

So I was looking up Journalism schools and found many, but they were so far away from Washington. Most were out of the country for an example, in the UK and in Australia. Maybe I didnt go further with my searches I just sticked to the first page.

Reflections

So, me going to work and studying has been working out great, I find the dirt, I write and record it on my blog then go to work. I recently wrote a piece on Tony Hillerman. And now I am trying to find some more ideas. I love reading articles and novels. I could write about how much I love Stephanie Meyers novels that is consumed of vampires, "shape-shifters" not werewolves, love, hate, adventure, the thrill, all of the above. And if you must know, she is the creator of Twilight. The reason for a Team Edward and Team Jacob. She is the mother to TWILIGHT! And I thank her for creating such a novel because it truly is one of the greatest series I have ever read since 8th grade. I am now 18 so I have been reading Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and even the 5th manuscript Midnight Sun since 13 years of age and now. I want to audition for a role in Breaking Dawn so I have time to prepare myself. I tried for Eclipse but was too late!!! Wish me luck!

Tony Hillerman

Tony Hillerman wrote novels of Journalism. One in particular that is found fond to many is "The Fly on the Wall". The plot takes place with a political reporter (a reporter that reports the politics and such governmental views and aspects) named John Cotton finds his whole life in grave danger when he continues to investigate and research for a colleague of his in search for corruption at the state capital. Now, even though this is a novel, this is what you hear in the news and the Daily Enquirer. Its crazy but true in some circumstances. Many of these stories get publicity or just get sweeped under the rug as a way for everyone to keep quiet. I should get used to this because this happens in this industry. I just hope I do not end up like Tony Hillermans Novel.

I got the news!

So...I had gotten an e-mail today. It stated unfortunately, the west seattle blog is too busy right now to sit with me in an interview. I guess they have been traveling and I completely understand I mean come on, its the west seattle blog. So it said to get back at them in January. I will. I am persistent and determine to sit with them for an interview. I mean Tracy and Patrick are awesome people, and very understanding so there will be a time for me to sit with them, one of these days. And I know Im dragging this on a bit, but its only because it dissapointed me to find this out. I guess thats some of the falls of a journalist. Knowing that there are days when you dont get your way. I feel like I have to compete with everyone when it comes to this industry. I mean, have youever checked out the other blogs on blogspot. They are more compelling than mines, but I have to sercom to the fact that, thats what journalism is all about and to be a journalist you shouldnt COMPARE or CONTRAST the difficiency of your work with others. Im young, I still need time to ajust.

Reflections.

So...I forgot to Post some blogs up, yeah well just one, but letting that one slip is so not okay. I mean, not only is this a blogging web site, but its also an assignment. And for me to slip up at this moment is not okay. I, well there were more than just one. my previous reflection was a late post. I just write the post and leave them in my inbox until they get full, then I Post them. I'm such a procrastinated person. I mean, I get the job done, but forget to post them. People make mistakes. So for all those who are reading my blog, I'm very sorry for the late arrivals. and Note: there are still more blogs to be posted. I have another reflections piece and a blog a on a California shooting. Oh, last year I met a photographer that works for the Seattle Times. His name is John Lok and I thought it was appropriate for me to write a blog about him. He takes amazing pictures, he even photographed famous photographer, Anie Leibovitz. Who has photographed Angelina Jolie and aslo Demi Moore in the famous Vanity Fair magazine. Her work is well known and I think it was great of John Lok to have the privilege of meeting her.

More In Dept with Steve Weinberg

This man (Steve Weinberg) is actually very credible. I applaud him of his work. I guess I shouldnt base a man upon his misunderstanding article. Steve Weinberg had an article written about him by many local Missouri newspapers. Although I can only find a quote from them, it was enough to base my blog upon. Steve is a former executive director of Investigative reporters and editors. He is now a teacher at the Missouri School of Journalism. He is also an author of eight nonfiction books. Steve describes his novels as the "Moby Dick" of journalism novels. So Steve, you are the Mark Twain of Journalism novels I presume? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just so happen to agree with somewhat of your remarks. Congradulations Steve Weinberg on your accomplishments and may you be blessed with more to come.
